Chanel S.A. ( French: [ʃa'nɛl]) is the French house of high fashion that specializes in haute couture and ready-to-wear clothes, luxury goods, and fashion accessories. In her youth, thecouturière Gabrielle Bonheur Chanelgained the soubriquet “Coco” while achanteuse de café in provincial France. As a fashion designer, Coco Chanel catered to women’s taste for elegance in dress, with blouses and suits, trousers and dresses, and jewellry (gemstone andbijouterie) of simple design, that replaced the opulent, over-designed, and constrictive clothes and accessories of 19th-century fashion. Historically, theHouse of Chanel is most famous for the stylistically versatile “little black dress”, theperfume No. 5 de Chanel and the Chanel Suit.

As a business enterprise, Chanel S.A. is aprivately held company owned by Alain Wertheimer and Gerard Wertheimer, grandsons of Pierre Wertheimer, an early business partner of Coco Chanel. Commercially, the brands of the House of Chanel have been personified by fashion models and actresses, by women such as,Carole Bouquet,  Tautou, Keira Knightley and Marilyn Monroe, who epitomise the independent, self-confident Chanel Girl.

Do you still remember the expensive Chanel Bicycle? Here comes another one from Chanel. Karl “Krazypants” Lagerfeld is at it again. He’s made a bike, which we covered, as well as other sporting equipment like skis. If Krazypants can find a way to put a Chanel logo on something that is already expensive and then charge more for it, he’s all over it. Particularly if it can be done in a wacky, eccentric way makes everyone go “…waaaah?” And that’s the case with the all-new-for-spring Chanel Segway. It’s got an enormous classic flap stuck on the front of it like a basket on an old-fashioned bicycle and Chanel’s quilted caviar leather covering the wheel wells. I don’t even know what else could be said about this…thing. Except that Krazy Karl is the only person I could ever see riding it, except for maybe Victoria Beckham, and maybe her kids behind her, on mini ones. No price information was given, but their bicycle from several seasons ago was several thousand dollars, and this thing has a motor, so…draw your own conclus

Sofia Vergara Shops for Chanel

Wouldn’t it be nice to be Sofia Vergara for a day? I mean hello, the gal has it all – she’s painfully gorgeous, she’s a successful actress and model, and she’s got an in with the Smurfs, Diet Pepsi, and Kmart (huge franchises = huge connections/discounts/money in her pocket). What else could a girl want? Oh, that’s right a hunky guy with lots of influence – check and check, she’s dating politician Nick Loeb! I’ll tell you one thing, if I were her for a day, I’d be spending it like she is in the pics above – out shopping for Chanel.

Ugh! I mean, um, er…congrats, Leann Rimes! The newlywed, who is fresh off her surprise nuptials to actor Eddie Cibrian, made sure to show off her five-carat rock as she landed in Toronto this past week. It’s no secret Leann loves Chanel just as much as she loves the cameras, as evidenced by her plush white quilted bag. I daresay that is the only thing I like about this whole ensemble

A sleek and subtle-looking Jennifer Love Hewitt was recently spotted storming the shopping scene on Robertson Boulevard. She casually carried an ever-so-elegant Chanel purse at her side, which really spiced up her soft, simple spring outfit. I must say, nothing looks better with a black Chanel handbag than a pretty pair of heels like the sexy peep-toe pumps Jennifer is sporting! Pick up a Chanel bag of your own or one like hers.

It appears that the ultra-stunning Nicky Hilton has skipped right passed spring and jumped head first into summer. At least, her last gas-getting outfit looks that way! She was recently spotted pumping gas in some sassy sailor shorts, a loose-fitting tank, open toe wedges, and of course that ravishing, red Chanel Maxi Flap Bag. Her look was even topped off with a bright red mani/pedi, bold black sunglasses, and a fun fedora. I know the weather has been crazy this year, but I’m not sure I’m ready for summer yet. (Besides, soft pastels and lightweight sweaters suit me. Although I’ll agree they’re not really Nicky’s thing.) 

Sizzling sisters Kourtney and Kim Kardashian hit the streets after a mani/pedi with not just than just their pretty purses in hand, but their shoes too! The bombshells held on tightly to their beautiful pumps and bags as they made their way to the car after leaving their afternoon feet treat. Kourtney is an absolute doll with her bold cape coat, salient beret, and ravishing Chanel Flap Bag. I absolutely adore her sense of style!

Lauren Conrad is doing all she can to ‘book,’ oh, I mean look, her best, as she’s out on her current book tour. It makes perfect sense that she’d be sporting a lovely black Chanel bag, her basically signature, go-to designer. Her books are titled, Sugar and Spice andLauren Conrad Style, so clearly, looking fashionable goes hand-in-hand with promoting. Lauren is also wearing an exquisite green flared pea coat poncho, a white lace Marchesa dress, Aldo shoes and a Jennifer Behr headband.
